CHICKS Adventure Holidays supports BPNW Youth Project

BPNW youth project have been able to attain places for two young people to go on an adventure holiday camp in Devon and Cornwall towards the end of the year.  A charity based organization called CHICKS (Acronym for Country Holidays for Inner City Kids) has kindly donated spaces on the adventure holiday camps to BPNW.  These places have now been passed down to two young people linked to the organisation.

These camps enable young people to explore their talents and to enhance team work and self esteem.  They will have the opportunity to socialize and make lasting friendships with other young people from across the country. A list of activities that they may engage in, are Rock Climbing, Horse Riding, Football, Swimming, Trampoline, Bowling, canoeing and surfing (dependant on weather).  They also have the opportunity to go to a theme park and the local zoo.   The finale on the final day ends with a disco where the children can show their singing talents during a karaoke session whereby all the staff join in and support the young people.  The children are also given a goody-bag filled with keepsakes to remind them of their CHICKS experience.  The staff members at CHICKS are very supportive and encourage the children to have a positive attitude towards life and their peers. 

It is hoped that BPNW will be able to attain places at CHICKS in the future for children linked to the organisation due to the holidays being run between March and December.

Finally a huuuuuggge thanks goes to all the staff members at CHICKS for kindly giving the young people the opportunity to attend the camp in November 2008.
