A series of workshops will be held across Manchester focusing on the AIDS memorial quilt to commerorate World AIDS Day 2007.
The workshops will involve
- Quilt Pieces
- Discussion
- Poetry
- Drawings
- Quilt Decoration
The workshops will encompass this years World AIDS Day theme of Leadership, helping to empower young people to create a positive change.
Our aim is to improve awareness of sexual health issues and the impact of HIV using the AIDS memorial quilt and to provide promotional resources and literature to inform the public and specifically young people within the local communities.
A major focus of the workshop will revolve around HIV and the incorporation oif the Every Child Matters Framework, enabling young people to challenge their beliefs and wider social views.
We hope you will join us in this opportunity to raise awareness amongst young people and the general public through art and by contributing to the making of a WAD quilt.
Whilst the focus of the workshops is on young people, everybody is welcome to attend.
