This year, we’re really pleased to be working in partnership with Operation Fundraiser for all our publicity and fundraising events. Below is an outline of all the different activities that we have planned for 1st December:
Street collections: All day on 1st December, we will be out on behalf of Operation Fundraiser, selling red ribbons and collecting funds from the public in central Manchester. If you’re interested in helping out, please contact Caryl on 0161 882 2216.
Open Morning: We’ve invited our funders and partnering agencies to mark the day by coming in and visiting our new centre. The morning will include coffee and breakfast, tours of the building, taster sessions of the services on offer and opportunity to meet the guests to mingle with volunteers, clients and staff.
Time: 8am – midday
Location: 39 Russell Road, Whalley Range, Manchester, M16 8DH
Vigil: In partnership with Operation Fundraiser and Manchester City Council, we are organising a candelit vigil at the Beacon of Hope in Sackville Gardens. The Lesbian and Gay Choir will be performing, there will be readings and a minute’s silence.
Time: 8pm
Location: The Beacon of Hope, Sackville Gardens, Manchester.
European Market: Again, in partnership with Operation Fundraiser and Manchester City Council, Body Positive North West will have an information stall open in the European Christmas Market on Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December. We’ll be selling red ribbons to market shoppers and providing information on all of the HIV support agencies across Manchester.
