Every Doug has its day; BPNW’s Pride Pooch
BPNW Chief Executive, Phil Greenham and her partner Gayle Harari were celebrating last week as their cocker spaniel Douglas William scooped third prize in the Manchester Pride pooch competition.
Competition was tough and Doug lost out to a perky Westie called Macy and a lively Greyhound called Troubadour.
But Doug was adamant “It’s the taking part, not the winning that counts. I really took part to represent BPNW and all the dogs who are companions to people living with and affected by HIV.”
Doug, aged 8 delayed one of his regular short back and sides so that gay people across the north west could see him in possession of his magnificent blue rowan cocker spaniel’s coat.
But this coming Pride weekend, like so many gay men he’ll be opting for a tougher, more severe look gay pride he’s opting for a number one cut.
Doug will be making a personal appearance on BPNW’s stall at this weekend’s pride celebrations, where fans can have their photo taken with him for a £1 donation to BPNW.
“Why’s the hamper down that end?” Doug with mum Gayle Harari and Macy and dad Anthony outside Manchester’s Malmaison hotel.
Jump? “How high?” said Macy. “You’re having a laugh” said Doug.
