Advocacy Worker – Disability Hate Crime (DHC) ‘Working it Through Together’ Project x2


Post 1: 28 hours per week Salary: £15,400.30 p.a.
Post 2: 21 hours per week Salary: £11,550.22 p.a.

Aims of the Post
1. To identify and train a group of disabled people - particularly those from Black & Minority Ethnic groups (BME), and those from Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGB&T) communities as advocates to support other disabled people who have been, or think they have been, victims of hate crime.
2. To support disabled people - particularly those from BME and LGB&T communities who have been victims of hate crime to join together to form peer groups for others.
3. To contribute to the development of DHC reporting methods.
4. To support the development of networks to ensure the delivery of project objectives.
5. To keep all relevant project and client records up to date.
The post is based in Manchester. Recruitment is open, though we employ 60% disabled people, thanks to our targeted process. No formal qualifications are required: relevant experience will be significant.
