E-Newsletter – Coming Soon
The New York Times’ masthead logo, "All the News That's Fit to Print," dates back to 1896, the first year of Ochs-Sulzberger family control of the paper. Times, and The Times, have changed with the advent of radio; cinematography; roving reporters; 24 hour news reports beamed into our lounges.
A study a few years ago found that when asked viewers were able, in the main, to recall the “and finally” story from the main news bulletin of the previous evening. You know that story about dogs being rescued from wells; grannies of 95yrs young skydiving; children overcoming terrible odds and playing the violin with their earlobes!
We are, generally speaking, suffering from the multiple modern malaise of being over exposed to ‘sound bite’ news reportage and that has generated a generation of people who are “disaster fatigued”; “famine fatigued” and “disease fatigued”.
BPNW has been producing up to date, factual information on HIV/AIDS for over 20 years; our quarterly newsletter provides information on our services and, on occasion, insights into the lives of those who come in contact with BPNW.
Our Editorial Team is currently designing a new e- newsletter which we will be publishing fortnightly over the wonder that is the World Wide Web!
It is our express intention to bring you both local and global, up to date, factual information on HIV/AIDS drugs, treatments and news; nutrition; sexual health; the latest from the major conferences; quizzes; the occasional competition; news about our services; etc.
Important bit:
If you would like to subscribe to our e-newsletter, please contact Emma via info@bpnw.org.uk with subject “E-Newsletter subscription” or call 0161-882-2200 to provide your details.
Additionally, we would like your help. Do you have ideas of items that we should include in our e-newsletter? Let us know and we’ll see what we can do – be realistic for, try as we might, we’re unlikely to get private interviews with Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie or the sons of the Prince of Wales! Mind you, if anyone can we’re fairly certain that it will be one of our intrepid BPNW service users or supporters!
