One third of people with HIV in the UK are unaware they are HIV positive. High proportions of people presenting at a GUM clinic with a sexually transmitted infection leave the clinic without taking an HIV test. People often complain of the length of time it takes to get an appointment at sexual health clinics as well as the length of time it can take to wait for the result.
