Sainsbury's and BPNW!!!

Sainsbury's

We are delighted to announce that Sainsbury’s and Body Positive North West will be working in partnership. Our very grateful thanks go to Dean, Aiden and the rest of their colleagues at Heaton Park for their generous support and assistance.

Prior to good drug treatments friends, neighbours, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, lovers slaved in kitchens across the globe  making sure that people ate, it didn’t really matter that it was high in cream or fats, or sugar, as long people ate. Eating was seen as a way of prolonging life at time when we had no effective drug treatments. It made us feel good to see people eat; it made us feel good, if we could, to eat. We ate as an act of defiance. Faced with an uncertain future one of the few things we had control over was eating. Body Positive North West has been proud to serve food to a generation of people living with and affected by HIV.

As we have seen the change in treatment options available to people living with HIV, we have pushed forward the agenda of better diet for those living with HIV. In partnership with Sainsbury’s we hope to be able to supply food for those living with HIV where their income often promotes the buying of poorer quality food just because it is less expensive.

Our partnership working with Sainsbury’s will primarily contribute to our main kitchen, but we hope to have days where we will be able to provide supplementary food parcels to service users.

Remember we cannot guarantee there will be items every day therefore we ask that you phone before making the journey to the centre

If you would like to find out more about this service contact Emma or Sam on 0161 882 2200 or sam@bpnw.org.uk
