Positive Living Partnership
A Partnership for HIV Social Care Services in the Northwest
Dear Colleagues,
From July 1st 2011 Body Positive North West and our partners Drugline / Renaissance find ourselves in the privileged position of being the Social Care Service providers for those living with HIV across Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen.
The LCC / BwD HIV Partnership within the Region will create not only great opportunities but great challenges and, with your support, we hope to meet those challenges imaginatively and with the best possible outcomes for those living with HIV.
We have created a ‘single point of entry’ for all new and existing HIV positive service users. This will mean that service users will access the service by dialling 0300 365 0070 where they will be dealt with by a skilled Triage Team member. The 0300 number is at local rate and free if you have a free calls package on either you landline or mobile phone.
With this change there will be a period of transition as service users of previous providers arrive at this new service; as clinicians, social services staff, support workers and our colleagues in other third sector agencies, and others become increasingly aware of the new service and how to refer into it on behalf of their current service users; as we spread the word of the new service and how to access it. It is our hope that with your assistance, together we make this transition period as challenge free as is possible.
This will truly be a team effort where your help and support will be critical in these exciting days which lay ahead of us. Service users are, and always have been, at the very heart of what we do and it is our intention that, via this partnership, we can make this new service a positive experience for those living with HIV as well as those who refer into it.
