Talking Therapies Service

How can talking therapies help me?
This psychotherapy and counselling service is an opportunity for you to talk about and explore an issue in confidence; the issue may be personal or professional. Sometimes you may be looking for a solution to a problem; the talking therapies may help you to discover the best solution for you at this time. This service is about valuing your capacity to make your own choices and changes in your life.


About the service
All of the therapists are qualified or working towards their qualification in counselling or psychotherapy. You may ask your therapist to tell you more about the training they have had and the way in which they work if you want to know more.
All of the therapists work within the basic core values of dignity, fairness and respect.
We offer one to one therapy sessions, couple therapy and group therapy.


Is what we talk about confidential?
What happens within the session is confidential between you and the therapist, with certain exceptions, they are: child protection issues, and threats to harm yourself or others.
Your therapist will also discuss the content of the session with their supervisor, you will not however be personally identified.


How long do sessions last?
Sessions last for 50 mins or part of depending on what time you arrive. All sessions are planned to start and finish on time.


How many sessions can I have?
Your therapist can offer you up to 8 sessions
Sessions are usually weekly although this can vary with mutual agreement.
